While promoting research and development by utilizing the functions of the research promotion agency, the PD is responsible for promoting initiatives for social implementation, such as developing strategies and R&D plans for social implementation, setting targets and allocating budgets for R&D themes, coordinating with other SIP programs, coordinating with related ministries and industry initiatives, and utilizing other measures such as BRIDGE (policy planning and formulation).
